The University of Louisville men’s soccer team is coming into the season with yet another impressive recruiting class. According to collegesoccernews.com, U of L ranked sixth in the nation in recruiting class rankings.
Some of the notable additions to the Cardinal’s roster include midfielders Ayden Nocus and Rafael Pinzon, as well as defender Sebastian Falsone.
Nocus comes from Danville, Ky., but spent the last five years playing for FC Dallas Academy. Nocus was a member of the 2018-19 FC Dallas U-17 team that clinched the No. 1 overall seed in the 2019 U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy playoffs.
Pinzon signed with U of L out of Mexico City, Mexico. After moving to Canada at a young age, Pinzon debuted for the Canadian youth league in 2017. Pinzon has been a member of the FC Dallas U-19 Academy since 2019. Prior to joining Dallas, he was a member of Pachuca Academy in Mexico.
Falsone comes into U of L as one of the more highly touted players of this year’s recruiting class. Falsone was ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic section according to Top Drawer Soccer’s power rankings for 2019-20. Falsone has been apart of DC United Academy since 2018, while also participating as a member of DC United’s USL Championship team.
U of L men’s soccer looks to turn the corner with this impressive recruiting class following the dismissal of three active players on Aug. 7. Their dismissals came after those three players attended an off-campus party on Aug. 1 that resulted in the spread of COVID-19 among student-athletes at the university.
The addition of Nocus and Pinzon will help to fill the shoes of veteran midfielder Cameron Wheeler, who was one of the soccer players dismissed from the team earlier this month.
